Seeing Beyond Your Knowledge

Seeing God in your life is about looking for him and expecting to see him. Like Lucy in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. While her and her siblings are navigating the changed landscape of the land they once knew. Her siblings try to find their way by looking for what they remember and relying on their own knowledge. But Lucy is looking for the one thing that doesn’t change, she is looking for Aslan. She knows him and expects him to show up and show them the way and he does, because she put her faith and trust in him.

It’s the same for us. We won’t see God if we aren’t looking for him, seeking his presence and expecting that he will show up.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord -Jeremiah 29:12-13a

Faith in God is so much more than a ticket to heaven. It’s a relationship with the creator of the universe. He built this world and he can and will guide us if we trust him. But to trust someone, you have to know him.

God will show us who he is everyday all day if we let him. We can seek him while we do the dishes or drive to work. We can see him in a sunset or the smile on our kids faces. He will show himself to us if we look for him and expect him to be there. The creator of the universe wants to be in relationship with you, to love you and show you his grace, kindness and goodness. Look for God in places and ways you never have before. He’ll show up, if you seek him.
