Jesus is My Everything

Jesus should be our everything. He cares for us. Loves us and brings us joy. When people look back at my life I want them to see him. Not me or my achievements. But him.

He is the one that carefully shielded me and surrounded me when I gave my life back to him. He pursued me so that all my needs were met and that I felt loved and desired like I had looked for all my life. For eight years he put me in a bubble of his presence. He surround me with people who pursued him and drew me to know and pursue him more. It was that time that prepared me to become a good wife, a better friend and even a better employee.

A decade later he’s calling me into that bubble again. I don’t know what it will be like or build in me but I know it will be good. That it will draw me into a time of focus on him. To learn more about him, grower closer to him, love him more and know his love deeper.

So for a short bit I will be taking a break from writing this devotional. I love you all and hope that you draw closer to God. Fall in love with him all over again and come to know him more deeply and intimate than ever before.

Trust God’s Timing

When we fell like we’re stuck in a tough situation it’s easy to look to solutions we never would have before. We can be tempted with a quick fix. Like Caspian and Peter in “Prince Caspian” they listen to the counsel of those they shouldn’t and even consider working with the white witch because they don’t think Aslan will provide. But Edmund helps them see it’s not the solution they really want.

We need to seek God daily and remind ourselves that he is good and he provides. It may not always be in the way we think it should happen or in our preferred timing but if we put our faith in him he will provide. Just like Aslan did through Lucy because she never lost her faith.

So stop trying to do it yourself, seek God and let him provide.
